They had intended to get married on December 30, 2017, but the rapid progression of this malignancy forced them to move the date up significantly.

Whether or not a patient’s cancer is severe depends largely on the development of metastases, also known as daughter tumors.

For Heather, that path led directly to a disastrous end result.

The happy couple finally tied the knot on December 22nd, over a year after Dave’s proposal. Heather, although in the hospital, was surrounded by loved ones as her spectacular wedding went on.

A close friend of Heather’s said:

“She was determined to marry her soul mate”

Her folks simply threw the clothing over her like a sheet because her infant body was so frail and delicate.

However, she did put the dress on in the hospital chapel, and the wedding could proceed as planned.

Heather still found it difficult to take a deep breath, let alone do anything else. To say her vows with confidence, she struggled.

These were her final remarks, and perhaps that was for the best.

Christina said:

“It was a miracle …Even when she raised her arms and realized she would die, she was happy. She just wanted it to be a party.”

“Everyone cried …We all knew that this was the last moment with her and we would treasure every second.”

David’s day was filled with sadness, significant difficulty, agony, and genuine heartache; nevertheless, it was also full with love and appreciation.

David said:

“She was beautiful and she felt safe …I saw her illness. I saw her pain but she did not give up until she married me. It’s unbelievable how much you can love a person.”

It was barely 18 hours after Heather replied “Yes” that she breathed her last…She only turned 31.

Dave and Heather’s funeral was conducted at the same location they had picked for their wedding on December 30—the day they had initially intended to get married.

Quote from Christina:

“It was a really hard day …The world lost a wonderful person.”

Christina has been sharing the pictures she snapped of the happy couple at their wedding ever since. They have made a profound impact on people all around the globe.

This has been an extremely difficult time for everyone concerned, but we are glad that others can find inspiration from this narrative.
