Country Music Singer Dies Suddenly Just A Day After Celebrating His Latest Album

The country music crooner husband of American Idol star Kellie Pickler has shot himself dead inside their Nashville, Tennessee home. The 49-year-old husband of the singer was found dead on Friday. Kyle Jacobs, 49, had locked himself upstairs in a bedroom and office, where he committed suicide just one day after he wrote an Instagram post celebrating a new musical milestone for his country music career.

Prior to his suicide, Jacobs announced that he was celebrating the work he did on Lee Brice’s hit album Hey World, which Jacobs was proud to say had gone platinum. The work he did on that album helped the record sell so many copies. Jacobs served as a producer on the hit album in addition to playing some acoustic guitar tracks. He also provided backing vocals on the album.
In his final Instagram post, the country musician wrote: “Platinum?! SWEEEET!!! An amazing crew of incredibly talented peeps put this one together…Deeply honored to be a creative part of it… Thank you, Jesus!!!”

While outsiders congratulated Jacobs on his musical success in the Instagram comments, they all thought he seemed to have everything. His musical career was a success, and he was married to an American Idol star and smoke show. Nevertheless, he was struggling with what is likely severe depression and felt compelled to kill himself with a firearm.

One other thing that Kyle Jacobs had going for him was the release of a new songwriter app called SingerSongwriterMusician, which was released this month. The new business venture was sure to be a hit for the country singer.
“Calling all Singers, Songwriters, and Musicians!!! Do you need great ‘Appenue’ (App+Avenue=Appenue) for the WORLD to hear the MUSIC that God put into your HEART? Or need a network to set up gigs, find performance venues, find new band members, or even just jam buddies? Then check out the SingerSongwriterMusician App… It’s AMAZING!!!” Jacobs wrote.

In response to the success Jacobs was sharing on social media, his followers and friends applauded his efforts and shared more ideas of things he could try to do.

David Allen replied to the post about the platinum album, saying, “Congrats, my brother! Big bass will be on the spawn beds at my lake in about two or three weeks. Grab your gear, and let’s get in the truck.”

A dedicated fan of Jacobs added, “Hey, have you ever thought of writing a gospel song? I bet it would be awesome with your faith and words of experience over the years put to paper as to what he has blessed you with like how he gave you Kellie and your love story.”

Police responded to an emergency call at 1:21 pm Friday.

“Officers and Nashville Fire Department personnel responded and located resident Kyle Jacobs, 49, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office,” Nashville police said in a statement. “His death is being investigated as an apparent suicide.”

Police spokesman Don Aaron confirmed that no one else was hurt during the suicide by gunshot.

Jacobs’s wife, Kellie Pickler, was featured in the fifth season of American Idol, where she placed sixth in 2006.
