Rising Minnesota Rapper Dies At 21
Lexii Alijai, the rising rapper from Minnesota, has died at the age of 21.
Alijai, born Alexis Alijai Lynch, reportedly died on Jan. 1. The cause of death has not been released.
Singer/songwriter Kehlani was one of the first stars to bring attention to the rapper’s death in a series of tweets on Wednesday. “i’m angry i’m confused i’m heartbroken i’m angry i’m confused. i love you lexii. my baby was 21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” she tweeted.
Rapper Wale also tweeted about the “Broken Telephone” rapper with a tweet that read “Lexii … my God man …”
Alijai’s reported cousin shared a message for the singer on Facebook: “I’m so lost for words…my beautiful cousin with so much talent & Unique soul … It’s too soon[.]”
Alijai, from St. Paul, Minn., released two albums in her short career: 2017’s Growing Pains and 2015’s Joseph’s Coat.
