Michael J. Fox Makes Rare Appearance And Confirms What We All Knew
When asked to name a well-known movie from the 1980s, most people will reply Back to the Future.
The picture has stood the test of time and has a dedicated fan base.
Reuniting the film’s main characters recently made headlines all around the world.
Especially when the main character, played by Michael J. Fox, has spent the last two decades coping with a persistent medical condition…
Back to the Future included a cast that included Lea Thompson, Christopher Lloyd, Tom Wilson, and Michael J. Fox.
Even over 40 years after the first film’s premiere, there are still fans who can’t get enough of the franchise.
This is why the cast was asked to attend the FanExpo event. The performers reunited to talk about their theater experience.
Michael J. Fox says he “struggles” with his broken bones in a heartbreaking update.
Marty McFly’s mom from the first two movies, Lea Thompson, posted an Instagram update about their reunion. She also wrote and shared videos and photos from the event.
”Wow, honestly had the best time today with my #bttf family,” she captioned the post while tagging all the actors and some of her other friends. “So many fun fan moments too and a llama.”
In October of 2022, Fox and Lloyd met up again at New York Comic Con, but this time they weren’t alone.
The cast has revealed certain facts about the time period in which the series was filmed that may have been previously unknown to viewers.
Michael J. Fox replaced Eric Stotz in the role of Marty McFly, it was revealed, after production had already begun.
The 84-year-old actor Christopher Lloyd said he was disappointed by the new casting choice. “The announcement at one o’clock in the morning was that the actor playing Marty would no longer be playing Marty and that tomorrow, we would start shooting with Michael,” the actor added, referring to the time when filming with Michael was set to resume after a hiatus of six weeks.
I thought I had just about made it through the [first] six weeks, and now I was going to have to do it again,” he continued. They hit it off right away; the chemistry was undeniable.
What we suspected all along is true: the two men had a beautiful and genuine friendship.
It’s almost enough to make you cry to see how close these two men have remained throughout the years.
Fox, meanwhile, had a great time right off the get. The actor said: “Just take it in and let it wash over me. I thought he was brilliant. That was the whole thing,” the 61-year-old actor said. “Be with Chris and let it be Chris, and enjoy it… It was a thrill. Anytime I got to work with him, I knew it was gonna be a good day.”
Fox has often praised his longtime co-star Christopher Lloyd.
He had mentioned their tight relationship in a previous conversation. He disclosed:
“Chris is a great guy. He’s very enigmatic,” he told the outlet. “It took me a few films to get to know him. In ‘Back to the Future Part III’ we connected in a way we hadn’t on the other films. I came to see how much he loved acting. I never got that before. To sit down and talk about acting and talk about Shakespeare and ‘King Lear’… This guy can play King Lear! People don’t expect that of him. He’s full of surprises.”
He has also praised Lloyd as an actor, saying, “He can tell a movie’s worth of story in two seconds and you get it. Us regular actors have to lay out hours and hours to get the information out.” Adding, “Chris is brilliant at it. His love of film and his love of being an actor… He’s not just a crazy guy, he’s an artist.”
The actor also revealed some personal information. After learning he had Parkinson’s, he spoke of how the ensemble rallied behind him.
“Parkinson’s is the gift that keeps on taking. But it’s a gift, and I wouldn’t change it for anything.” Adding, “People like Chris have been there a lot for me, and so many of you have. It’s not about what I have, it’s about what I’ve been given: the voice to get this done, and help people out.”
