American Sitcom’s Actress Died At Age Of 93
Estelle Harris, best known for her role as pushy sitcom mom Estelle Constanza on the Emmy-winning series Seinfeld, died from natural causes at the age of 93.
She began her career in the 1970s, starring in several TV and radio commercials before making guest appearances on Law and Order, Night Court, and Brooklyn Bridge, among other TV shows. Harris joined Seinfeld in 1992, cementing her status as one of sitcom’s most memorable matriarchs.
Her TV son, Jason Alexander, remembered his “TV mama” and “one of my favorite people” on social media following news of her death, writing, “The joy of playing with her and relishing her glorious laughter was a treat
” Harris’ TV and film credits also include Married With Children, Mad About You, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, the Toy Story franchise, Stand and Deliver, and Odd Couple 2.
