CAMILLA HID FROM PUBLIC WHEN HER AFFAIR WITH CHARLES REVEALED
When their love affair went public, many people got angry at them, especially from Princess Diana’s supporters. Camilla was at the lowest point of her life during that time, and Angela Levin, a royal expert, stated that Camilla was afraid to go out from her house, and she was facing harsh comments when she does.
History of Camilla and Charles can be date back to 1972. Gyles Brandreth, the author of Charles and Camilla, Portrait of a Love Affair, states in the book that they were intruduced to each other by the daughter of the Chilean ambassador, Lucia Santa Cruz.
They dated for a time period, but ended their relationship at that time since Charles was going to serve in the Royal Navy. She was engaged to Andre Parker Bowles when he returned.
She married with Bowles in 1973, but this didn’t stop her to stay close to Charles. Diana and Charles started their relationship in 1980, when Diana was 19.
In their first meeting with Camilla, Diana thought that she was a good person to be friends with. But things changed quickly.
In her own book, Diana explained their relationship as, “I met with Camilla very early on. I was introduced to the circle, but I was a threat, I was a very young girl, but I was a threat,”
Charles admits his affair with Camilla started in 1986, when he was married to Princess Diana, in his authorized biography.
When Princess Diana found out the affair, she faced with Camilla. In public eye, they were acting as if there were nothnig wrong, but for Diana, it was over.
They announced their split in 1992, and continued to maintain their royal duties. Their divorce was finalized in 1996 after they agreed on terms.
This affair made her hard life as she was struggling in her relationship with the Queen Elizabeth.
“That they loved each other was not in any doubt. In Camilla Parker Bowles, the prince found the warmth, the understanding, and the steadiness for which he had always longed and had never been able to find with any other person,” Jontahan Dimbelby stated in the authorized biography of Prince Charles, at that time.
