Lost Dog Found In South Carolina Passes Away After Reuniting With Owner 7 Years Later
A senior dog that was found alive in South Carolina after disappearing from his New Mexico mom for seven years crossed the rainbow bridge Tuesday.
In February, a 16-year-old Jack Russell-Pug mix named Nugget was found in Travelers Rest, South Carolina by a woman who learned he was 1,700 miles away from home.
Thankfully, Jessie Springer hadn’t changed her phone number in seven years and was able to be reunited with Nugget with his microchip. After spending a little more than a month with his mom in New Mexico, Springer shared on social media that Nugget had died.
“It is with a heavy heart that I have to let everyone know that Nugget went home to be with the Lord today at 12:30 p.m. The last few days had been a hard struggle. Despite me trying to give him whatever I could think of food wise, he simply said, “mama, it’s time for me to say goodbye.”
She added Nugget was a warrior and fought to make it back home.
Springer also thanked Carolina Loving Hound Rescue for creating the reunion of a lifetime.
