Al Roker’s latest health update; undergoes surgery again – few months after last major health crisis

Al Roker undergoes knee replacement surgery for better health

Famous meteorologist, Al Roker, has been facing several health issues in the past few months. After being hospitalized for blood clots in his lungs and legs, the Today Show’s beloved weatherman, 68, returned to TV with a clean bill of health. Unfortunately, Roker had to take another break due to health issues and recently underwent total knee replacement surgery.

In a video he posted on social media, Roker was seen walking very slowly in a hospital hallway to update his fans on his recovery progress. He thanked his doctors and noted he was “wearing a negative pressure pump to help facilitate wound healing.” The ABC News journalist also shared some pictures of her husband’s latest hospital stint and wrote, “Moving forward with [grit, gratitude, and grace]. Humbled by all the good wishes and [prayer] and the blessing of good [health care].”

The newsroom legend’s last bout of illness was not easy. His wife, ABC News journalist, Dorah Roberts, 62, told the media that her husband was in a “very, very critical” state. The couple has been married since 1995 and share two children together, daughter Leila and son Nicholas.

During his recovery, Roker remains optimistic and passionate about his work. He has no plans to retire and finds his job as a meteorologist on the Today Show to be a wonderful experience.

Roker’s surgery reminds us that knee replacements are a common procedure for people who suffer from chronic knee pain due to arthritis or injuries. The goal of this surgery is to reduce pain, increase mobility, and improve quality of life.

We wish Al Roker a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on our television screens soon.
