After the passing of his son James, who battled cancer for a number of years, Robert Redford is seeking the solace of his family.
Reports indicate that James, a filmmaker who was 58 years old, went suddenly on Friday as a result of bile-duct cancer that developed in his liver.
A spokesperson for the actor informed that Robert Redford “is mourning alongside his family during this horrible time and wishes for privacy.”
“The pain that comes with the loss of a child is indescribable,” the speaker continued.

“Jamie was a devoted father, husband, and son who loved his family. His children will continue his legacy, as well as the works of art, films, and steadfast commitment to nature preservation that he produced.”
“James’s cancer was discovered in November of last year while he was awaiting a liver transplant as a result of the recurrence of his liver condition two years earlier,” according to Kyle, James’s wife.
Kyle tweeted: “Today Jamie passed away. He was loved by many people and lived a lovely, meaningful life. Everyone will sincerely miss him.”
“The two amazing kids that we were fortunate to raise together over the course of my 32 years as his wife are what I am most grateful for. I have no idea what we would have achieved over the previous two years without their assistance.”
According to sources, James, often known as Jamie, has struggled with a number of health problems since he was a youngster. He was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, an incredibly rare autoimmune disease that damages the liver, according to the material on his IMDb profile.
He underwent not one, but two liver transplants in 1993, following which he founded the James Redford Institute for Transplant Awareness, a non-profit group whose goal is to spread awareness of the value of organ and tissue donation.

With Jamie came love and contagious joy. He approached everything he did with kindness and warmth, and an openness that spread itself easily among others. (1/5) pic.twitter.com/N3hbOh0ELr

James, Robert Redford’s third child, is survived by his wife Kyle and their two children, Dylan and Lena.
The grief that comes with losing a child is unbearable, and no parent should ever have to experience it. My thoughts and prayers are with Robert Redford and the rest of James’s family during this terrible time. I feel so bad for you all.
James, may you find comfort in the garden of the Lord in your hour of need, and may you rest in peace.
